AKAL TAKHT JATHEDAR CALLS SESSION TO DECIDE ON RAAGMALA
The facts of SGPC committee were presented before SGPC in discussions chaired by President SGPC and Akaal Takhat Jathedar Giani Mohan Singh Nagoke in 1945. The committee concluded that Raagmala was not Baani. It was decided that Raagmala will not be read at Akaal Takhat Sahib. However, to avoid splitting the Panth, reading of Raagmala was made optional.

Giani Lal Singh went to Giani Gurbachan Singh in 1945 to confirm if he accepts the Sikh Rehat Maryada. He returns with a letter stating Jatha Bhindran bows before the decree of Akal Takhat Sahib.
